Cheerfully Yellow

Isn't this such a beautiful sunflower?

It reminds me of the happiness I shared with my husband.

It is 49 years ago today that we first met.

Rusty Kettle

The most amazing items can be found in the strangest of places!

I am sure no-one in their right mind would want to use this to boil up a picnic cup of tea.

This old kettle was left here, sitting on a rock, at a picnic area near Lake Arapuni.

Cock Pheasant

 Family:  Phasianidae

In New Zealand this introduced game bird is a mix of sub-species, the most prominent being the ring-necked pheasant from China.

Sharing Our World - Jellyfish

Spotted Jellyfish (Desmonema gaudichaudi)

This jellyfish can sometimes be seen in our New Zealand coastal waters during the summer months.  It is easily identified by the spots (or speckles) that cover the top of its 'jelly' body.

The Spotted Jellyfish is capable of delivering a nasty sting (seldom fatal), even after having been washed ashore.

The Art Of Nature - Rocks

Rock formations, known as Toadstools

(Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument, Utah, USA - 2010)

Located 45 miles east of Kanab, Utah, these "toadstools" were created when the softer Entrada sandstone eroded away, leaving a cap of harder Dakota sandstone at the top of a column, thus forming a mushroom shape.
