Rock formations, known as Toadstools
(Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument, Utah, USA - 2010)
Located 45 miles east of Kanab, Utah, these "toadstools" were created when the softer Entrada sandstone eroded away, leaving a cap of harder Dakota sandstone at the top of a column, thus forming a mushroom shape.
